It's Saturday which means nothing. It's just another day to make progress, and to see it as the end or some sort of achievement would be a mistake. Yesterday's 'Golden Teacher' has done seemingly well. It's primed to be the most viewed video on my YouTube (currently at 1.7k views, with 3 subscribers, and 19 likes) and TikTok (currently at 1.9k views, with 1 follower - my first follower infact, and 13 likes). Not bad going. It sort of flopped on Reddit, with a combined total of 15 upvotes, and one comment. I posted it on r/Mushrooms and r/Animation. Then there's Instagrm, currently with 197 views and 1 like. I have promotions running on both the Instagram and YouTube videos, around £5 budget on each (total £10). No sales as of yet. It might not seem like much, but it's a step in the right direction. With that in mind, let's move forwards - vanity metrics are only worth so much.
Now I need another idea. I liked the 9 panel setup, and turning it into an animation - so perhaps I should do another one of those. But of what? I had an idea about doing a full deck of hand-drawn playing cards. I probably don't need to say hand-drawn anymore, it's kind of a given I suppose. Where was I, oh yeah the idea, so playing cards would be cool, but it's a long project and requires a bigger piece of card than I currently posses. We'll put the pin in that one for now. Next was some sort of character or items from a video game, but I'm not so much a fan of them anymore. I'm not even sure if they're good or bad. Proabably niether, it's usually the relationship to the thing that makes it so. I don't think I'm going to do either of those ideas today, so I'll have to come up with something else. What's something I've always wanted to understand but don't? I'd like to commit the solar system to memory, and how flowers grow. I could do a timelapse animation loop of a flower growing from a seed. But since I did a mushroom yesterday, it feels a little worn out to me. So I'll save that one for another day. I want to do something different. How could I make the solar system into a looping animation? First scene would be the sun. It's our star and at the centre, makes sense really - a logical starting point. Or perhaps I could do the entire solar system. All eight planets orbiting the sun. I wonder if I could do that in eight frames.
